After virtually no precipitation, Austria got smacked with winter just as the World Cup showed up at Solden. The weather forecast was pretty much bang on – snow, snow and more snow.

The ladies GS was completed (although from the bad weather/reserve start) on Saturday but the Men’s GS was cancelled – just too much snow & wind for a safe & fair event. Good news is that the men’s GS will be rescheduled for later in the season.

Congratulations to those on the ladies podium (Worley – FRA, Bignone – ITA, Shiffrin – USA) and congrats to Canadian Valerie Grenier with a career best World Cup GS 11 place finish.

Even better news: We can expect all of podium winners and Valerie to be racing at Lake Louise next month!

Nama-ski,

Brian
