Just after we confirmed our positive snow control, we received the tragic news that French downhiller David Poisson died today following a training crash at the Nakiska Ski Area.
The 35-year-old Poisson won a bronze medal in the downhill event at the 2013 world championships. He was training at Nakiska in preparation for racing in our World Cup event.
The entire World Cup ski family here at Lake Louise expresses its condolences to David’s family, teammates and to the French Ski Federation.
David is in our thoughts & prayers.
